Sho 'n' Tell Talent

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending A Brief History of Everything by the MA Music Theatre students at Central School of Speech and Drama. The performance was a collection of pieces depicting... well... everything, from the enchantment of birth to the poignancy of death.  All 22 students displayed the utmost professionalism, and performed as though they were on a West End, as opposed to, Swiss Cottage stage. One student in particular stood out for me - David Albury.

Albury displayed hunger and competence beyond his years. Not only did he sing and act other peoples' works, he also played and sang his own composition Reflection Eternal. Using four (complex) chords, Albury conveyed an emotional message, echoed by drama on stage.  He proved that he is a well-rounded performer and willing to bear all, demonstrated by the lack of paraphernalia. His soulful performance was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening.

Ode to the 80's Baby

Mumma and I were watching 'Living with the Amish' in her Zen room, and she flicked during the ad break. Whoosh, my childhood came flooding back as soon as I saw Warwick Davis' face on this other programme!

He starred in one of my favourite childhood films 'Willow'. I can't remember how many times I borrowed it from the video shop, I just loved it! Willow came out in 1988, when I was 1. I'm sure other 80's babies will remember this one. Have to get this on DVD/Bluray, check this film out if you haven't already, start with the trailer ;)

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! There isn't one thing that defines it, only that I will share different aspects of my personality and things I'm interested in. To give you a rough idea though, there'll be food, music, books and general ramblings!

I've got lots of things going on at the moment, so don't be surprised if something random pops up ;) Hopefully you'll enjoy the things I share, if you do then drop me a comment or tweet.  If you don't, then don't resort to cyber-bullying, it's not cool.
