Sho 'n' Tell Talent

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending A Brief History of Everything by the MA Music Theatre students at Central School of Speech and Drama. The performance was a collection of pieces depicting... well... everything, from the enchantment of birth to the poignancy of death.  All 22 students displayed the utmost professionalism, and performed as though they were on a West End, as opposed to, Swiss Cottage stage. One student in particular stood out for me - David Albury.

Albury displayed hunger and competence beyond his years. Not only did he sing and act other peoples' works, he also played and sang his own composition Reflection Eternal. Using four (complex) chords, Albury conveyed an emotional message, echoed by drama on stage.  He proved that he is a well-rounded performer and willing to bear all, demonstrated by the lack of paraphernalia. His soulful performance was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening.
